icSRV Launches First School Supplies Donation Drive for Brigada Eskwela 2015
2 June 2015 – As part of icSRV's "Brigada Eskwela" school donation drive, volunteer employees from AIG Shared Services - Asia and AIG Shared Services - IT visited the Kindergarten and Grade 1 students of Golden Acres Elementary School (GAES) to distribute 849 envelopes filled wih school supplies.
Compared to their previous "Brigada Eskwela," where the employee volunteers participated to clean and repair school facilities, icSRV Committee decided to facilitate a school donation drive instead. During the window for donation that spanned for a month, the employees were able to provide 2,000 envelopes of school supplies, exceeding the initial goal of 300 sets.
Aside from GAES, icSRV reached out to other institutions. About 100 envelopes were given to Pres. Corazon Aquino Elementary School in Quezon City, and 300 was sent off to children in Tacloban under the flagship of the Typhoon Haiyan Long-term Relief Program. 212 envelopes were shipped to several schools in Nueva Ecija and 200 to Mindoro.
Two other schools were also recepients of the school supplies donation drive. Association De Damas Filipinas received 93 envelopes, and E. Villanueva Memorial Elementary School got 60 sets. Our security and housekeeping staff also received 79 sets of school supplies from the outreach activity.
